death doula training

Death Doulas honor the sacredness of our full life cycle with a specialized focus on death and dying. Doulas provide holistic non-medical physical, emotional and spiritual support for those facing a terminal illness as well as for their families. This patient centered care is based on the values and goals of the patient as well as what is spiritually and culturally significant.

This training will give you the confidence, knowledge, and skills necessary to provide compassionate care for those at the end of life as well as their families.  You will practice building capacity in order to bear witness and hold space for the wildness of death.

Those who are facing their own death and who strive for a deeper understanding of the transformational power offered to us as we face and embrace what It means to die will also learn how they can be supported differently.

This training is infused with material based on the understanding that there are deep fractures in our health care and death care delivery systems exposing the inequity in availability of services and education which has a disproportionate affect on the global majority.

* Optional mentoring program

Mentoring- $795-12 private one hour sessions that provide an additional layer of support. I will also help guide you as you are supporting your own patients. I've mentored volunteers for hospice for years and offer my knowledge with a gentle, practical and compassionate style of support.
