Inspired Endings invites you to join us for this transformational learning experience focused on caring for the dying and expanding our awareness about this potent transition in our human lives.
Our training cohorts are small as the work we do together is quite intimate. This container allows for each participant to be seen, heard, and well-supported as we explore the rich terrain of death and dying, grief and loss, and what it means to be mortal.
A limited number of partial scholarships are available for those who qualify.
Payment plans available.
This 3-day training will be held at a private home in North Kohala on the Big Island, HI. We will gather daily from 8:30 am- 5:30 pm. Email for a list of local accommodations.
Death Doulas honor the sacredness of our full life cycle with a specialized focus on death and dying. Doulas provide holistic non-medical physical, emotional and spiritual support for those facing a terminal illness as well as for their families. This patient centered care is based on the values and goals of the patient as well as what is spiritually and culturally significant.
This training will give you the confidence, knowledge, and skills necessary to provide compassionate care for those at the end of life as well as their families. You will practice building capacity in order to bear witness and hold space for the wildness of death.
Those who are facing their own death and who strive for a deeper understanding of the transformational power offered to us as we face and embrace what It means to die will also learn how they can be supported differently.
This training is infused with material based on the understanding that there are deep fractures in our health care and death care delivery systems exposing the inequity in availability of services and education which has a disproportionate affect on the global majority.

This training is open to anyone who has a desire to explore what it means to be mortal, to love, to let go and to die. It is also for anyone who wants to learn more skills to support others, be they family, friends, or clients as they prepare to cross the threshold. You do not have to have any special degree or previous training to join us.
In general there is a sad lack of conversation about death and dying in our over-all culture. So we don't prepare for this sacred time in our life cycle. This means many people are taken off guard when finding out about a terminal diagnosis. This can create an undo amount of stress and a deeper sense of grief. Taking this training means there will be one more person on this planet who can speak openly about dying and death. One more person who can provide education, support and needed comfort to a dying person and the family. One more person who can bear witness and love another human as they cross over from the human world into the great mystery.
