Inspired Endings invites you to join us for this transformational learning experience focused on caring for the dying and expanding our awareness about this potent transition in our human lives.
We keep our training groups small as the work we do together can be quite intimate. This also allows for each participant to be seen, heard, and well-supported as we explore the rich terrain of death and dying, grief and loss, and what it means to be mortal.
Inquire about a partial scholarship for this training.
Payment plans are available as well.
This 3-day training will be held at a private residence in North Kohala on the Big Island, HI. We will gather daily from 8:30 am- 5:30 pm. Email for a list of local accommodations.
IN ADDITION- Psychedelic journeying (legal use of ketamine under the care of Dr. Charlotte Charfen and her medical team) sessions are offered after the end-of-life doula training. This is an opportunity for a deep inner investigation into our most intimate relationship with life, death, nature, joy, grief, and the Great Mystery. There is an additional fee for these sessions. Find out more at https://charlottecharfen.com/ketamine/
End-of-life doulas honor the sacredness of our full life cycle with a specialized focus on death and dying. Doulas provide holistic non-medical physical, emotional and spiritual support for those facing a terminal illness as well as for their families. This patient centered care is based on the values and goals of the patient as well as what is spiritually and culturally significant.
This training will give you the confidence, knowledge, and skills necessary to provide compassionate care for those at the end of life as well as their families. You will practice building capacity in order to bear witness and hold space for the wildness of death.
Those who are facing their own death and who strive for a deeper understanding of the transformational power offered to us as we face and embrace what It means to die will also learn how they can be supported differently.
This training is infused with new material based on the intense education we have received as a result of the pandemic, global grief and the Black Lives Matter movement all of which magnified the deep fractures in our health care and death care delivery systems exposing the inequalities in services that have a disproportionate affect on marginalized communities.
